Sigetronics, a next-generation specialized semiconductor company, is drawing attention as a key component supplier in the Physical AI era by officially commencing mass production and supply of ultra-compact optical sensors to global top-tier customers. With the company moving beyond the technology development stage and entering the global supply chain, expectations for a revaluation of its corporate value are also increasing.

On May 22, Sigetronics announced that it has begun mass production supply of ultra-compact, high-sensitivity optical sensors to global top-tier customers. Through this supply program, the company is being recognized as having entered a world-class supply chain network.

The optical sensor market is one of the fastest-growing sectors, driven by the expansion of autonomous driving, smart home appliances, mobile devices, and IoT infrastructure.

According to industry sources, the global optical sensor market is expected to grow from approximately USD 24.5 billion (KRW 36.9 trillion) in 2024 at an annual growth rate of more than 10%, reaching approximately USD 71.9 billion (KRW 108.2 trillion) by 2032.

In particular, the ambient light sensor segment, which is Sigetronics’ core focus area, is considered a key market accounting for more than half of the overall optical sensor market.

The products currently being mass-produced are optical sensors based on ultra-compact and high-precision sensor technology. These sensors are applied as key components in optical encoder systems used for robot and industrial machinery joint motor control. The company expects demand to expand across future mobility industries, including drones, smart factories, and autonomous driving.
