Multi-Channel APD (Avalanche Photodiode) Lineup

SIGETRONICS, Inc. announced that it has established a product lineup of multi-channel APDs (Avalanche Photodiodes) with high photo-responsivity in the near-infrared (NIR) wavelength band, particularly optimized for 905 nm.


This multi-channel APD lineup provides key specifications including a detection wavelength of 905 nm, breakdown voltage of 150–250 V, photo-responsivity of over 55 A/W, capacitance of approximately 2 pF, and rise/fall times of about 1 ns. Designed specifically for LiDAR applications, the sensors are available in 1, 8, 16, 32, and 64 channel configurations, and can be supplied either as bare chips or packaged devices, depending on customer requirements. In particular, the packaged products offer an option to integrate a world-class bandpass filter with a very narrow full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 35 nm.


APDs are advanced sensor products currently manufactured by only a handful of companies worldwide, leading to high costs and long lead times that have posed challenges for domestic system manufacturers. SIGETRONICS’ multi-channel APD lineup is recognized as the first domestically produced product of its kind in Korea, leveraging the company’s proprietary epitaxial growth technology and M-FAB facility. This ensures strong market competitiveness in terms of both cost and delivery. The lineup can also be customized based on customer requirements for channel count, chip array configuration, filters, and packaging, providing a wide range of technical flexibility to end-users.


Looking forward, SIGETRONICS expects its multi-channel APD lineup to contribute significantly to the miniaturization, lightweight design, and enhanced performance of industrial sensing applications such as LiDAR systems, drones, robotics, and logistics systems.
